A neutral, fixed-cost toolkit for all participants in the international shipping market

Created by experienced shipping software developers Strategic Software Ltd, who bring 20 years of experience in developing software to improve communications flows and optimise the management of chartering and operations data. Deploying next generation technology, StrategicIMX was launched in December 2000 as a tool to supporting work processes in relation to chartering and operation of ships. With an established track record developing expert shipping systems, StrategicIMX integrates tested functionality of Strategic's client server positions lists with the advanced communications capabilities offered by the internet.

Designed to support the way business is conducted today

StrategicIMX is the only chartering support platform to offer fully web-based exchange of positions as well as seamless exchange of positions between Strategic's and Dataworks' client server positions systems. StrategicIMX simplifies the management of ships positions and cargo orders, reducing time spent on collating positions lists and cargo orders and communicating such reports to counter parties. The user-friendly and simple-to-use StrategicIMX eliminates repetitive manual processes and reduces paperwork through collaborative sharing of voyage data in a private and confidential environment. Users have full control over distribution of data, with the options of keeping data private to the individual user, sharing data with colleagues or distributing data to select counter parties.

Strong industry support

Strategic has gained strong backing from the industry for the IMX project. E.A. Gibson, Poten & Partners, Ispat International N.V., JC O'Keeffe Shipbroking Limited, The Torvald Klaveness Group and banchero costa have been crucial to the development of StrategicIMX.

Platforms supporting the special requirements of individual shipping sectors are being developed by Strategic in close co-operation with shipbrokers, charterers, shipowners/operators and other industry interests. The first of these community platforms, TankerIMX, was launched in July 2001. In October 2001, Strategic entered into a joint venture with e-JAN Corporation, the Japanese internet shipping group, to establish and operate e-JAN/DrybulkIMX, a community platform for the drybulk shipping community. e-JAN/DrybulkIMX was launched in February 2002.
